We are seeking an experiencedData Architectto join a high-performing Federal Government agency. The successfulData Architectwill lead the design and development of data architecture foundations for a major digital initiative, supporting improved data exchange, governance, quality and interoperability across a complex multi-agency setting. The successfulData Architectwill secure an initial 6-month contract with a 6-month extension option, based in Canberra

TheData Architectwill be responsible for but not limited to:

- Designing conceptual and logical data models, schemas and data dictionaries
- Translating business and regulatory requirements into structured data architecture artefacts
- Mapping data elements, reporting forms, data flows and transformation rules
- Supporting reference data, metadata, lineage,



data quality and governance arrangements
- Advising on structured data exchange, XML, validation rules and integration patterns
- Engaging with technical, business and policy stakeholders to validate and endorse deliverables

TheData Architectwill have experience in the following:

- Demonstrated experience in data modelling and schema design for complex domains
- Experience developing data reference models, data sets, mapping specifications and metadata
- Strong understanding of data governance, quality management, lineage and traceability
- Experience with structured data exchange formats and integration approaches
- Strong documentation and stakeholder communication skills
- SQL experience is highly regarded, with Python, R, Power BI or Tableau beneficial
