SOILCO is currently building an organics processing facility in Bega, NSW, and is looking for an experienced project manager with a proven track record delivering complex infrastructure projects from planning through to completion. We are looking for a proactive and organised professional who can manage multiple stakeholders, drive project performance, and ensure successful project outcomes, while benefitting from a supportive, close-knit environment, along with the expanded resources and opportunities of a larger organisation.
The Role:
As Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of a site that will be receiving and processing 15,000 tonnes per annum of garden organics (GO) and food and garden organics (FOGO) collected from the region. The facility is approved, has been designed to scale to 30,000 tonnes per annum, and will use Covered Aerated Static Pile (CASP) technology. The successful candidate will be ensuring this project is completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
You will play a pivotal role in coordinating internal teams, managing external partners, and maintaining robust client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a $11M civil construction project from commencement through to successful completion at Wolumla, near Bega and Merimbula.
- Develop and maintain project programs, budgets, forecasts, and resource plans.
- Prepare estimates, manage project costs, and monitor financial performance.
- Lead project team, subcontractors, and suppliers to achieve project objectives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with the client (Bega Valley Shire Council), consultants, and other key stakeholders.
- Identify, assess, and manage project risks while implementing effective mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with all GC21 contractual obligations, legislation, quality standards, and safety requirements.
- Monitor project progress and provide regular reporting on cost, schedule, risk, and performance.
- Drive continuous improvement across project delivery, systems, and processes.
- Ensure the project is completed to client expectations while maintaining high standards of workmanship and professionalism.
- Regular on-site presence to ensure program, quality, environmental and safety standards are being maintained on-site.
We are Searching for a Candidate with the Following Attributes:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management or related field(preferred)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in project management, with a focus on civil construction projects
- Certifications in Project Management (eg. PMP, PRINCE2) will be highly regarded
- Previous experience leading teams in construction projects
- Strong understanding of civil construction principles, from design to execution
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities
- Previous experience in GC21 contract execution is highly desirable
- A valid driver’s licence
