National Fuel Operations Safety Manager | Retail | Richmond

Reporting to the Head of Safety, this is a standalone role with no direct reports. The right person is calm when things get complicated, sharp when decisions need to be made, and confident working across a high‑risk, quick‑moving environment. Monthly travel is part of the role.
This is a hybrid role, working 3 days from home and 2 days based in the Richmond office.
About the role
- Own the Fuel Safety Management System including Chain of Responsibility
- Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis
- Conduct and maintain risk assessments across fuel processes and workplace health and safety
- Drive fuel safety working groups and lead cross‑functional improvements
- Manage the Fuel Contractor Management system including performance and engagement
- Oversee Management of Change activities
- Monitor and report on fuel safety KPIs and trends
- Maintain training content and deliver train the trainer programs
- Contribute technical input into store development and change management
About you
- At least five years across safety in the retail, energy, manufacturing, supply chain, and/or construction industries
- Chain of Responsibility accreditation is required
- Working knowledge of dangerous goods legislation is preferred
- ICAM Lead Investigations or equivalent is well regarded
- Comfortable with Enterprise Risk Management software such as Protecht or Camms
- Someone who brings warmth to a team as much as they bring capability to the role
