About the Role:

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic full-time, ongoing Clinical Nurse Educator - Student Programs to support undergraduate nursing students undertaking clinical placements across our organisation.

Reporting to the Nursing Education Coordinator, Early Career Programs, this role is responsible for facilitating high-quality student learning experiences through strong partnerships with universities, thoughtful placement planning, and ongoing support for students and clinical teams. The position plays an important role in promoting a positive learning culture and ensuring nursing students are provided with meaningful opportunities to develop their clinical capability within a specialist paediatric setting.

The Clinical Nurse Educator - Student Programs works collaboratively with universities, clinical staff and nursing students to support all aspects of student placement activity across RCH. The role contributes to placement planning, student orientation, educational support and evaluation processes, helping to ensure students receive engaging and well-supported clinical learning experiences that align with curriculum requirements and organisational priorities.

Classification for this position is in accordance with Award 22 - Registered Nurses and is classified as RN35 (Educator), with a salary of $128,102 per annum (FTE, pro rata for part-time, plus superannuation).

Key Responsibilities:

- Support the planning and allocation of undergraduate nursing student placements across clinical areas.
- Maintain effective relationships with university partners and other education providers.
- Act as a key contact for nursing students, universities and RCH clinical teams regarding placement requirements and learning opportunities.




- Facilitate student orientation and learning activities that support safe and effective clinical practice.
- Provide educational support to preceptors and teams in order for them to offer students guidance and constructive feedback throughout their placement experience.
- Work collaboratively with Nurse Educators, Clinical Support Nurses and Clinical Nurse Specialists and clinical teams to optimise student learning opportunities.
- Assist in monitoring student placement capacity and utilisation across the organisation.
- Contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of student placement processes and educational resources.
- Support quality improvement initiatives relating to student learning, placement experiences and university partnerships.
- Promote evidence-based practice, reflective learning and professional nursing standards.

About You:

You are passionate about supporting nursing students and creating positive, high-quality clinical learning experiences.

You will bring:

- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with NMBA administered through AHPRA.
- Postgraduate qualifications in nursing, education or a related field (or working towards).
- Demonstrated experience in clinical education, student supervision or nursing workforce development.
- Sound understanding of undergraduate nursing curricula and clinical placement requirements.
- Experience working collaboratively with tertiary education providers and clinical stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively across diverse clinical settings.
- A commitment to continuous improvement and excellence in nursing education.
