What you'll do

- Lead a diverse team in the development, execution, and refinement of program strategies, timelines, budgets, and risk assessments.
- Recognize potential obstacles and opportunities for enhancement, crafting actionable strategies to tackle them effectively.
- Oversee the preparation of essential program materials necessary for making informed decisions, governance evaluations, and external communications.
- Collaborate closely with fellow project managers to ensure consistency with downstream processes, including target validation and drug discovery initiatives.
- Work in partnership with the Finance team for budget development, resource allocation, and communication of financial risks.
- Maintain thorough documentation, including updates on program status, progress reports, and regulatory submissions for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Supervise tracking systems for internal capability development projects to ensure alignment with strategic goals.
- Keep stakeholders updated on priorities, timelines, risks, and decisions throughout the lifecycle of projects.

Requirements

- A PhD with 5 to 8 years of experience, or a BS/MS with over 10 years in the biopharmaceutical industry, preferably in early therapeutic research or drug discovery,



with direct experience in genomics or genetics for drug target identification.
- A minimum of 2 to 5 years of leadership experience managing multidisciplinary project or program teams focused on early drug target identification or drug discovery.
- Demonstrated experience in merging wet-lab research capabilities with computational teams to achieve complex objectives.
- A proven track record of successfully guiding cross-functional teams to meet program milestones within stringent timelines in a matrixed or startup biotech environment.
- An integrative leadership style that emphasizes listening and simplifying complex issues into actionable solutions for diverse teams.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead and influence without direct authority.
- A solid grasp of pre-clinical and clinical drug development strategies and best practices in program management.
- Experience in managing program budgets and financial reporting in collaboration with functional and finance teams.

Nice to have

- Knowledge of genomics-based drug target identification and platform-driven drug discovery.
- A successful history of advancing programs from research to early clinical development, including experience with both small molecules and biologics.
- Background in working with rapidly growing, early-stage biotech companies.
