About the Role

As a Roadside Assistance Patrolperson, you'll respond to RACQ member breakdowns throughout the Townsville region, providing safe, professional, and efficient roadside assistance.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Diagnosing basic mechanical and electrical faults
- Battery testing and replacement
- Flat tyre changes
- Minor roadside repairs where possible
- Retrieving keys from locked vehicles
- Delivering outstanding customer service on every call
- Recording job information using mobile technology
- Working independently while maintaining high safety and service standards
- Participating in a rotating 24/7 roster,



including weekends and public holidays

About You

You don't need to be a qualified mechanic; however, you must have solid practical automotive knowledge and confidence working on vehicles.

You’ll also have:

- Sound mechanical aptitude and fault-finding skills
- Current Manual Driver Licence (essential)
- Basic hand tools (our patrol vehicles are provided and carry specialist equipment)
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Good computer and smartphone skills
- Ability to work autonomously and make sound decisions
- A positive attitude with excellent problem-solving skills
- Reliability, professionalism and strong work ethic
- Ability to meet service standards and KPIs
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts
