The Intensive Care Paramedic Employment Register is established to provide the Department of Health with a pool of experienced and skilled individuals who can be called on short notice. The register will remain open until 30 June 2027 and will be reviewed regularly.
Duties
- Attend to members of the community requiring clinical care and treatment via ambulance services.
- Independently or as part of a team, deliver an advanced level of pre‑hospital clinical care in accordance with approved clinical guidelines.
- Provide relief at outer-urban and branch stations as required within established guidelines and in accordance with the appropriate position description for the role being relieved.
- Complete all relevant documentation related to clinical services, training provided and changes to the working environment and equipment.
- Maintain constant contact with the State Communications Centre in accordance with Ambulance Tasmania policies and protocols.
Essential Requirements
- Registered with the Paramedicine Board of Australia.
- Holds a Bachelor of Paramedic Science and relevant work experience or an equivalent qualification approved by the Service.
- Current driver licence.
Pre‑Employment Checks
- Conviction check covering crimes of violence, sex‑related offences, reliable drug offences, crimes involving dishonesty, reliable traffic offences and identification checks.
- Disciplinary action in previous employment check.
