Under closesupervision, this role offers a hands‑on, competency‑basedtraineeship designed to kick‑start your career in business andadministrative support. Through a mix of formal study andon‑the‑job learning, you will build practical skills while gainingreal experience in a qualified workplace.

Aspart of the Grants and Partnerships team, you will support avariety of operational and administrative activities that helpbring community funding programs to life. With guidance andsupport, you will assist across key stages of the grants process -including applications, monitoring and acquittals - while learninghow Council policies and procedures guide this importantwork.

Youwill engage with internal and external stakeholders, deliveringfriendly, high‑quality customer service and contributingtoinitiatives that support community growth and development. Thisrole also plays a part in promoting funding opportunities andhelping the community better understand how to access grants andpartnerships through Townsville City Council programs.

Thistraineeship is an exciting opportunity to develop valuableworkplace skills, make a meaningful contribution to the community,and gain a nationally recognised qualification while youlearn.





Thisposition will complete a two‑year Certificate IV in Business onlinethrough Central Queensland University. For more information on thequalification through CQU, please follow the link below:

Qualificationsand Experience

Inan ideal applicant, we are looking for:

- Willingness tobe part of, and promote, a positive safety culture whilstadhering to all Health and Safety policies andprocedures.
- Minimumcompleted of Year 10 with passes in English andMathematics.
- Minimum ofQueensland C class provisional drivers’ licence (or ability toobtain).
- Sound writtenand verbal communication skills.
- Sound computerskills.
- Ability to workeffectively and be positively involved within a teamenvironment.
- Complete alltraining and assessment requirements of a Certificate IV inBusiness as per the provided training plan. This includesattending and participating in structured formal learning atthe nominated Registered Training Organisation (RTO) as well askeeping an accurate and up to date training recordbook.
