Experienced Mechanical Fitter | Sewerage Pump Stations | Pumps | Treatment Plants | Regional Travel

We’re looking for an experienced Mechanical Fitter who already knows the water and wastewater industry.

If you’ve spent your career servicing pump stations, treatment plants, pumps, valves, blowers or similar infrastructure and you’re happy travelling throughout Queensland and Northern NSW - we want to hear from you!

This is not a workshop-based position. Every week is different. One day you could be rebuilding a pump, the next installing a current pump station, then carrying out preventative maintenance for one of our local government clients.

We’re specifically seeking applicants with hands‑on experience working with water and wastewater infrastructure .

We specialise in mechanical maintenance, repairs, servicing and installation of water and wastewater infrastructure for local government and utility clients across Queensland and Northern NSW.

we’re looking for another experienced fitter who takes pride in quality workmanship and enjoys being part of a close‑knit team.

What You’ll Be Doing

- Infrastructure upgrades, installations and plant improvement projects.
- Planned servicing and preventative maintenance of water and wastewater assets.
- Mechanical repairs to pumps, valves, gearboxes, blowers, screens, pipework and associated equipment.
- Breakdown response and fault finding.
- Pump removals, installations and commissioning.
- Working across sewage pump stations, water treatment plants and wastewater treatment plants.
- Reading drawings, maintenance schedules and technical documentation.

Travel

- This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety and doesn’t mind getting out on the road.
- You’ll be required to regularly travel throughout Queensland and Northern NSW, with overnight stays required as part of planned maintenance programmes, project work and occasional reactive breakdowns.
- Most travel is scheduled well in advance, and you’ll be provided with a company vehicle, accommodation, applicable LAHA and travel allowances (Monday to Friday only).

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

- Mechanical Fitter trade qualification (Minimum Certificate III Engineering – Mechanical Trade or equivalent).




- Demonstrated experience within the water or wastewater industry.
- Strong knowledge of pumps, rotating equipment, valves, gearboxes and mechanical maintenance.
- Ability to diagnose faults and complete repairs independently.
- Current manual driver’s licence.
- White Card.
- Commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.
- Ability to work away from home on a regular basis.

Desirable:

- HR or MR licence.
- Confined Space Entry.
- Working at Heights.
- Dogging, Forklift or EWP licences.
- Hepatitis A & B and Tetanus vaccinations.
