About the Role

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day delivery of civil construction projects, ensuring all works are completed safely, efficiently, on time and to the highest quality standards.

You will coordinate site personnel, subcontractors, plant and equipment while maintaining strong communication with clients, Principal Contractors and our Head Office team. This hands‑on leadership role is responsible for implementing project plans, maintaining compliance with company systems and legislative requirements, and fostering a positive team culture that delivers outstanding project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage all day-to-day site operations from project commencement through to completion.
- Implement project plans, including procurement, staffing, quality, safety, environmental and inspection requirements.
- Coordinate labour, plant, equipment and subcontractors to achieve project objectives.




- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, company procedures and legislative requirements.
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture through inspections, audits, toolbox meetings and workplace reviews.
- Monitor project progress, productivity, quality and performance.
- Attend project meetings and prepare site reports.
- Assist the Project Manager with project planning, staffing, resource allocation and project controls.
- Review drawings, specifications, contract variations and project documentation.
- Maintain project records and site documentation.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and stakeholders.
- Supervise, mentor and support site personnel while maintaining high standards of workmanship and professionalism.
- Ensure appropriate plant, equipment and resources are available and maintained.
- Drive continuous improvement across safety, quality and project delivery.

About You

We’re looking for a motivated leader who enjoys building high-performing teams and delivering successful civil construction projects.

The successful applicant will demonstrate:

- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and Australian Standards.
- Strong planning, scheduling and resource management abilities.
- Experience implementing quality,



safety and environmental management systems.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- High level report writing and computer skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
- Professional presentation with a positive, proactive attitude.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe, productive and respectful workplace.
- Current Driver Licence.
- Trade qualification or equivalent industry experience.
- Relevant industry tickets and competencies.
- Ability to work on regional and remote projects when required.
- Pass pre‑employment medical with drug and alcohol test.
- Certificate IV or Diploma in Civil Construction (or similar).
- Computer and project management software experience.
- Leadership or Human Resources training.
- Robust understanding of Australian Standards, civil construction specifications and industry best practice.
