Scooter Central is on the look-out for a casual salesperson for our busy store in Brookvale, on Sydney's Northern Beaches . If you like motorcycles and scooters. then this is the job for you! This role would also be well suited to a university student looking for part time work or someone looking for an entry role into spare parts management. Previous experience isnt required but may be useful.

Our business has a high star rating and we work hard to assist our customers in the purchase of their scooter and with after sales follow ups and support.

The allrounder role we have available is diverse and exciting as you are part of a dynamic team. Yes, we love all kinds of bikes here, from sports bikes to dirt bikes to cruisers, but our specialty is scooters and this passion has lead us to become the most successful scooter store in Australia. We sell all of the top scooter brands, Vespa, Aprilia, Piaggio, Peugeot, Sym, Kymco, Segway and Electric Super Soco. These eight brands make up the major suppliers here in Australia. We are also the largest scooter accessory and parts store in Australia and run a busy onsite mechanical workshop to service the bikes.

THE ROLE

Our sales/spare parts role will see you working in a team withthe aim of putting the right customer on the right scooter and scooter accessories every time. We know that when we do this successfully, satisfied customers tell their friends and we can sell more scooters. It's quite simple.

The keys to success in this process are





- Solid sales skills or aptitude (any product is fine as long as you have a feel for the process of selling)
- A positive attitude and real desire to please our customers
- A current riders license would be advantageous (or willing to obtain one asap)
- Excellent phone manner
- An ability to work in a team and meet expectations and sales targets
- Valuable problem solving

This role will see you workingone or more weekdays and Saturdays regularly and occasionally fill in days that may coordinate with your schedule. A typical weekday will see you arrive at 830am and finish up at 530pm, with Saturdays from 9am-4pm. We have an hour of breaks each day broken into a morning break, lunch and afternoon break.

During the day, you will be responsible for how we display our scooters, rider accessories (such as helmets, jackets, gloves), scooter accessories (luggage racks, top boxes, wind screens) and keeping the showroom looking tidy and professional. This is important as it represents our first impression.

Additionally, you will be working under the spare parts co-ordinator learning how to place customer orders and communicating timelines with the customer. The spare parts component of the role can lead to a tafe qualification as a spare parts interpreter if this was of interest and can be pursued later.

We will help you build on your knowledge with plenty of in house training on the different makes, models and accessories.



Computer literacy is a requirement. It's a great experience working at Scooter Central and you will learn a lot.

ON THE JOB TRAINING

Training includes but isn't limited to learning our motorcycle business specific software, understanding servicing and warranty procedures, spare parts and scooter and motorcycle sales techniques.

We will also teach you an overview of the mechanics of scooters and how they work. This is great knowledge as it allows you to understand automatic transmissions and engines making it easier to discuss servicing when selling a scooter.

Our motorcycle industry software system will also be taught to you as part of the training process.

OUR TEAM

We have a team of eleven here at Scooter Central who are all friendly, supportive and team oriented. Amongour teams we have sales staff, admin staff and technical staff. Our technical team includes three mechanics, an apprentice, a workshop coordinator and spare parts interpreter.

Each of our team are chartered to be the best they can be. We encourage learning and personal growth and to that end, we have several staff doingTAFE, Uni and other courses to improve themselves and add greater value to our store and your career.

REMUNERATION

This role is casual only though can lead to a more full-time role for the suitable candidate

The roleincludes working one or two weekdays and Saturdays plus other days from time to time.

The casual hourly rate will vary depending on age and experience plus commissions for over 21 yrs of age. Under 21's are very welcome to apply too, so don't be shy.
