Tyrepower Wauchope is seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanic to join our team on a full time basis in Wauchope, NSW. As a Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality vehicle maintenance and repair services to our diverse client base, ensuring every vehicle that leaves our facility is safe, reliable, and meets the highest standards of workmanship.
What you'll be doing
- Perform diagnostic testing on vehicles to identify mechanical and electrical faults
- Conduct routine maintenance services including oil changes, filter replacements, fluid checks and tyre servicing
- Complete wheel alignments and suspension repairs
- Test repaired vehicles to ensure they meet safety standards and customer requirements
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation for all work completed
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding repair requirements, timelines and costs
- Maintain a clean and secure workshop environment in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Use diagnostic equipment and specialised tools to complete repairs efficiently
- Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure customer satisfaction and timely job completion
What we're looking for
- A recognised mechanical qualification
- Several years of hands-on experience working as a mechanic in a professional automotive workshop
- Strong technical knowledge of vehicle systems including engines, transmissions, braking, electrical and suspension
- Proficiency with diagnostic equipment and modern workshop tools
- A valid driver's licence and ability to test drive vehicles
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication abilities and a customer-focused mindset
- A commitment to maintaining safe working practices and adhering to workplace health and safety standards
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with tyre fitting and balancing is highly desirable
- Current knowledge of vehicle safety standards and regulatory requirements is preferred
