As an APS 5 Contract Management Officer, you will support the commercial management of sustainment contracts, contributing across the contract lifecycle from contract establishment through to delivery and closure.
Working within an integrated team, you will support Product Managers and key stakeholders in delivering commercial outcomes that contribute to a critical capability. The role involves assisting with contract administration, monitoring contract performance, milestones and risks, maintaining commercial records, and contributing to reporting, budgeting, forecasting and invoice validation activities. The role also includes supporting procurement planning, contract variations, governance requirements and compliance with Defence procurement policies, legislation and contractual obligations.
As an APS 5, you will organise your own workflow, exercise initiative and make sound decisions within established policies and procedures. You will undertake research and analysis, provide advice on commercial activities, and engage with stakeholders to resolve issues and achieve business outcomes. Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills are essential, along with a commitment to continuous improvement, professional development and delivering high-quality results.
This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP). This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Collective Agreement (DECA),
