Parliamentary Service Level 6 Project Liaison Officer - Electrical

The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is recruiting for a Parliamentary Service Level 6 Project Liaison Officer - Electrical within Property Services.

The Property Service Branch is seeking to recruit a motivated, adaptable and innovative person for the Project Liaison Officer - Electrical role within Electrical Services. Electrical Services is a unit within Maintenance Services, responsible for the electrical infrastructure, associated plant and equipment of the building.

Maintenance Services is the maintenance authority for Parliament House and is responsible for repairs and maintenance of the building's structure, fabric, finishes, landscape and all engineering services such as air-conditioning, power, lighting, hydraulic services and movement systems.

The Project Liaison Officer - Electrical will be responsible for providing technical support and approvals for programmed works. They will manage minor electrical projects and coordinate with other trades and clients, ensuring relevant specifications, statutory codes, WHS policies and procedures are met. The role also supports administration functions in Electrical Services.

Job Specific Requirements:

- Unrestricted ACT Electrical Licence
- The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (Protected/Restricted) security clearance

Duty Statement

Branch: Property Services

Section: Maintenance Services - B

Immediate supervisor: Assistant Director Electrical Services

Under limited/general direction, undertake duties in accordance with the agreed standards for the specified classification. Duties include, but are not limited to:

1.



Provide explicit and accurate communication concerning electrical information and infrastructure to key stakeholders.
2. Prepare, develop and implement plans and documentation surrounding the electrical infrastructure of Australian Parliament House in support of the Project Delivery, Contract Management and Maintenance Services teams.
3. Conduct quality assurance checks and document details related to electrical work across relevant projects.
4. Conduct detailed review of technical design specifications; develop and review operation and maintenance manuals and training/handover documentation as they relate to electrical systems across relevant projects.
5. Provide high-level engagement with Assistant Directors, relaying clear and accurate information regarding project status, documentation and defects in a timely manner.
6. Manage small-scale electrical projects, including developing statements of requirements, stakeholder engagement, project delivery, goods receipting, asset disposal and registration, and generating and managing documentation over the project lifecycle.
7. Promote and maintain the highest standards of safety across all operations, ensuring compliance with Work Health and Safety (WHS) policies and upholding the Parliamentary Service Values.

Selection Criteria

1. Electrical experience in a large commercial setting, including installation and maintenance of electrical systems, with a high aptitude to read and interpret plans and specifications.
2. Experience providing advice to internal and external stakeholders on complex integrated electrical building systems in a timely and accurate manner.
3. Experience in running small-scale electrical projects, including generating and managing documentation with internal and external stakeholders over the project lifecycle.
4. Clear, concise and accurate communication with internal and external stakeholders,



with a focus on strong negotiation and conflict management/resolution skills.
5. Ability to proactively seek out and initiate work in areas of need, committing energy and drive to ensure that goals are achieved.
6. As a member of a team, contribute to a proactive workplace health and safety culture and uphold the Parliamentary Service Values of being committed to service, ethical, respectful, accountable and impartial.
