The Opportunity

Carey Baptist College is seeking a Registered Nurse (0.6 FTE) to join our Harrisdale Campus, supporting students from Kindergarten through to Year 12, commencing as soon as possible.

This is a unique opportunity to combine your clinical expertise with your passion for supporting young people. Every day is different. One moment you may be providing first aid or managing an acute illness or injury, the next you may be supporting a student with a chronic medical condition, partnering with families to develop health management plans, or providing reassurance to a child who simply needs a calm and caring presence.

Working as part of our Student Services team, you'll play an important role in promoting student health, wellbeing and safety while helping create an environment where every student can participate fully in school life.

What You'll Be Doing

As our School Nurse, you will:

- Provide high-quality nursing care, first aid and emergency response to students across K–12.
- Support students with ongoing medical conditions by developing, implementing and reviewing individual healthcare management plans.
- Maintain accurate health records and ensure student medical information is managed confidentially and professionally.
- Work closely with parents, school leaders and external health professionals to support student wellbeing.
- Provide advice and education to staff regarding student health needs, medication management and emergency procedures.
- Assist with health promotion initiatives that encourage healthy lifestyles and student wellbeing.
- Support the College in maintaining a safe, compliant and responsive health service.

and working alongside teachers and families so every student has the opportunity to thrive.

We're looking for someone who combines excellent clinical judgement with warmth, empathy and exceptional communication. Someone who enjoys working with children and young people, values relationships, and understands the unique rhythm and rewards of a school community.

What You Will Bring

- A committed Christian faith and a willingness to actively support the College's mission, Statement of Faith and values.
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
- Demonstrated clinical experience, ideally within paediatrics, community health, general practice, emergency nursing or school nursing.
- Current First Aid, CPR and emergency response competencies.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with students, families and staff.
- The ability to remain calm, organised and compassionate in a busy environment.
- Strong clinical assessment, documentation and decision-making skills.
- A collaborative approach and genuine desire to contribute to a caring Christ-centred school community.
