About the Role

As a Chef de Partie, you'll work closely with the Head Chef to deliver high-quality catering services across breakfast, lunch and dinner operations. From daily meal services to field catering and specialised requirements, you'll play a key role in ensuring Defence personnel receive exceptional food experiences.
You'll also contribute to maintaining a safe, efficient and positive kitchen environment while supporting the wider catering team.

Your Responsibilities

- Prepare, cook and present meals to a consistently high standard
- Support and guide Kitchen Hands and Utility staff
- Maintain food safety, hygiene and compliance requirements
- Operate commercial kitchen equipment safely and effectively
- Assist with large-scale catering requirements and emergency meal services
- Help maintain a clean,



organised and efficient kitchen operation
- Work collaboratively to deliver outstanding service outcomes

About You

We're looking for someone who brings both technical expertise and a positive team-first attitude.
To be successful, you'll have:

- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or higher)
- HACCP Level 2 certification
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a high-volume commercial kitchen
- Strong organisational and planning skills
- The ability to adapt and perform in a dynamic, multi-stakeholder environment
- A professional, proactive and cooperative approach
- Alignment with Ventia's values and commitment to service excellence

Defence Clearance Requirements
This role requires eligibility to obtain and maintain a Defence Baseline Security Clearance. As a result, applicants must be Australian Citizens.
