Build emergency care research capability through clinical trials, grant funding and collaborative research that improves patient outcomes.

About the role

The Nurse Researcher provides specialised research expertise within the Emergency Department to strengthen research capacity and support the development of innovative, evidence-based healthcare practices. Working collaboratively across the Emergency Department and Critical Care Services, the role leads and supports research initiatives through the development of research proposals, grant funding applications, ethics submissions and clinical governance processes.

The successful candidate will coordinate and deliver clinical research activities, build research capability among clinicians, and foster collaborative partnerships with academic institutions, healthcare consumers and external research groups. The role also provides specialised research training, mentorship and consultancy services while contributing to research publications, conference presentations and the translation of evidence into clinical practice.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

- Lead and coordinate clinical research activities, including the development of research protocols, grant applications, ethics submissions and governance approvals.
- Build research capability by providing education, mentoring, supervision and support to clinicians and novice researchers within Emergency and Critical Care Services.




- Collaborate with academic partners, healthcare consumers and internal and external stakeholders to identify research, training, collaboration and funding opportunities.
- Evaluate, monitor and report on research and quality improvement outcomes while ensuring compliance with Good Clinical Practice standards and relevant legislation.
- Contribute to the advancement of emergency care through publication of research findings, conference presentations and the translation of evidence into clinical practice.
