What you'll be doing
As a Registered Nurse in the Post Anaesthetic Care Unit,
you will play a critical role in supporting patients during the immediate post-anaesthetic phase of their perioperative journey. You will use your clinical expertise to monitor, assess and respond to changing patient conditions while ensuring safe, high-quality care and positive patient outcomes. Deliver person-centred nursing care that meets the needs of patients and their families or carers Assess, plan, implement, evaluate and document care for patients recovering from anaesthesia Recognise, manage and escalation post-anaesthetic and postoperative complications effectively Ensure patients meet discharge criteria and provide safe transfer and comprehensive clinical handover Support and mentor staff and students while contributing to effective resource management and teamwork

Essential Criteria: Current Nursing registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA)
- Registered Nurse Division 1
Selection Criteria Recent perioperative nursing experience in PACU or similar High Dependency Unit with airway management Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work Demonstrated evidence of being able to provide person centred care Demonstrated effective communication skills

Effective interpersonal skills showing initiative and leadership to junior members of team Current unrestricted NSW Driver License as On Call will be a requirement Evidence of participation in own professional development and commitment to maintaining competence and enhancement of skills. Willingness to share these professional expertise with colleagues.
