Graphic Design & Marketing Assistant – Part-Time

Serendia is looking for a highly creative Marketing or Communications university student to join our team as a part-time Graphic Design & Marketing Assistant.

This is a varied, hands‑on role combining professional document design, tender presentation, social media, photography, video and general marketing support. You will help shape how Serendia presents itself to government, Defence, commercial and residential clients.

You will not spend all your time resizing templates. You will have an opportunity to develop ideas, improve our visual communication and produce work that will be used in genuine tender submissions and marketing campaigns.

You will work closely with our leadership and tender teams, giving you exposure to both the creative and commercial sides of a growing business.

About the role

This is a paid, part-time position requiring a minimum commitment of eight hours per week .

The hours may be arranged as one full day or two half‑days, subject to business requirements and your university timetable. Additional hours may be offered by agreement during major tender submissions, campaigns or content‑production periods.

The role will be primarily based at our Fyshwick office, with occasional visits to project sites and business events around Canberra.

What you will do





Your responsibilities will include:

- Designing and formatting professional tender submissions, presentations, capability statements, project profiles, team CVs, organisational charts and infographics.

- Turning technical construction information into visually clear, persuasive and easy‑to‑navigate documents.

- Creating and maintaining branded templates, graphic assets, image libraries and document styles.

- Developing social media graphics, carousels, captions and short‑form content for platforms such as LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook.

- Photographing and filming projects, team members, events and behind‑the‑scenes activities.

- Editing short videos, reels, interviews and project updates for digital channels.

- Helping plan and maintain a practical social media and content calendar.

- Occasionally appearing in front of the camera in project, educational or team‑based content.

- Assisting with case studies, website content, email campaigns and other marketing initiatives.

- Proofreading work and ensuring every document is accurate, consistent and on‑brand.

About you

To be considered, you will need to:

- Be currently studying toward a bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Communications .

- Have a genuine interest in graphic design, visual communication, social media and content creation.

- Provide a portfolio of creative work. University assignments and personal projects are welcome.

- Have strong layout, typography, composition and visual‑storytelling skills.

- Have working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat .





- Be confident using Canva and Microsoft PowerPoint and Word for qualified document production.

- Have experience with a video‑editing platform such as Premiere Pro, After Effects, CapCut or similar.

- Be interested in current design technology, including Figma, Adobe Express, Firefly or other responsibly used AI‑assisted creative tools.

- Have excellent written English, proofreading skills and attention to detail.

- Be organised and able to work calmly around fixed tender deadlines.

- Be comfortable receiving feedback and refining work to a high skilled standard.

- Exercise sound judgement when handling confidential tender and commercial information.

- Be comfortable occasionally appearing in photos or videos. You do not need to be an influencer or experienced presenter.

- Hold a current Australian driver licence and be able to attend occasional local project‑site visits.

- Be available to work at least eight hours each week.

- Have the right to work in Australia.

Previous construction or tender experience is not required . We are more interested in your creativity, attention to detail, software capability, judgement and willingness to learn.
