As Billini enters an exciting new phase of global growth, we are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Graduate Accountant to join our Finance team. Based at our modern Marrickville head office, you will gain hands-on experience across a broad range of accounting and finance functions while working closely with experienced professionals who are committed to supporting your development.
The Accounting Graduate supports the Finance team in the efficient and accurate processing of day-to-day financial transactions. The role is responsible for Accounts Payable processing, bank reconciliations, supplier account maintenance, and assisting with month-end activities. This position provides an excellent prospect for a recent Accounting or Commerce graduate to gain practical experience within a high-volume retail finance environment.
The Role
- Process high-volume supplier invoices accurately and within required timeframes.
- Follow up with managers and department heads to obtain invoice approvals.
- Respond to supplier enquiries and resolve invoice discrepancies promptly.
- Maintain the Accounts Payable subledger and investigate aged or outstanding items.
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve outstanding balances.
- Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations for retail stores and corporate bank accounts.
- Investigate and resolve reconciling items and maintain accurate cash records.
- Assist with month-end close activities, including preparing accrual journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Maintain accurate financial records within the ERP/accounting system.
- Ensure accounting records are complete, accurate and comply with company policies.
- Support improvements to finance processes and internal controls.
- Assist with documenting procedures and maintaining process consistency.
- Provide administrative and ad hoc accounting support to the Finance team as required.
You will bring
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Commerce or Finance (recent graduate).
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Good organisational, communication and time management skills.
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Exposure to an ERP or accounting system (e.g. AP21, MYOB, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics or similar) is desirable.
- A team player with strong customer service skills.
- High levels of accountability, integrity and professionalism.
- Adaptable with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
