With a strong and growing pipeline of projects, we are now seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join our finance team and take ownership of project-level financial performance, cash flow and reporting across our development and construction business.

Role Description

As Management Accountant, you will be responsible for tracking project performance against budget and forecast at the development and construction level, and translating this into transparent, reliable management and board reporting. Working closely with the finance team and collaborating with project teams, banks and financiers, you will manage cash flow, WIP and revenue recognition, and give senior management ongoing visibility of the development and construction pipeline. This is a hands‑on role suited to a technically strong, analytical accountant with a background in project‑based accounting in property development, construction or asset management.

Key responsibilities

- Prepare and maintain rolling cash flow forecasts, including project-level drawdowns and milestone payments
- Manage loan and debt facility drawdowns, repayments and covenant compliance (LVR, ICR, gearing)
- Support the day to day management with QS, banks and financiers on development and construction finance, including updating of registers, maintaining covenants, and drawdown certifications.
- Manage working capital and intercompany funding across multiple entities and SPVs
- Undertake project costing, billings, analysis as part of EOM and EOFY
- Provide financial support to project teams.
- Manage WIP and revenue recognition for development and construction projects in line with AASB 15
- Prepare variance analysis of actual results against budget and forecast, by entity and by project
- Lead forecasting and re‑forecasting, and prepare trend/scenario analysis and reporting for management and the board
- Manage ASIC compliance, statutory accounts and act as lead point of contact for the EOFY audit
- Support company secretarial administration and assist with day‑to‑day management of the finance team

About you

- CA or CPA qualified, or in the final stages of completion
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce

- 3-5 years' experience in a management accounting, project accounting or similar analytical finance role
- Experience within property development, construction or real estate asset management highly regarded
- Working knowledge of AASB 15 and revenue/WIP recognition for project-based businesses
- Proficient with Jobpac, MYOB, Xero or Property Tree, with advanced Excel skills
- Want to grow in a dynamic working environment and not afraid of taking on challenges.
- Strong analytical and financial modelling skills, with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong problem-solving skills and sound commercial judgement, with the ability to think through complex issues and connect the dots across projects and entities.
- Ability to translate project-level data into clear, actionable management and board reporting.
- Strong commercial acumen and understanding of project economics in a development/construction context.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise confidently with project, finance, and external stakeholders.
- Ability to manage competing deadlines across multiple projects and entities.
- High level of initiative and a continuous improvement mindset.
- Collaborative approach, working closely with the Senior Financial Accountant and project teams.
- Work across high-quality, design-led residential projects
- Collaborative, down-to-earth team environment
- Genuine ownership over project-level finance and reporting
- A business that values quality, long-term thinking and people-first outcomes
