Under closesupervision, this role offers an exciting competency‑basedtraineeship that builds practical, in‑demand skills in libraryservices through a combination of formal study and hands‑onlearning. You will be at the heart of our library branches,supporting the day‑to‑day delivery of exceptional customer servicewhile gaining real‑world experience.
Inthis role, you will interact with a diverse range of customers,helping resolve enquiries - including digital and technology‑basedissues - while actively promoting the full range of libraryservices. This role will assist customers to confidentlyself‑serve, contribute to the welcoming presentation of libraryspaces, and support the delivery of engaging library andinformation programs. You will also help prepare resources thatbring our services and programs to life.
Thisis a dynamic, customer‑focused role that requires flexibility andresponsiveness as customer needs evolve. Throughout thetraineeship, you will grow your customer service expertise, developstrong personal accountability, and contribute to a culture ofcustomer centricity—playing a part in reshaping how we deliverservices to maximise value for our community. You will rotateacross Townsville three library branches to gain a wide range ofexposure from all sites.
Thisposition will complete a two‑year Certificate III in Library andInformation Services through TAFE Queensland. For more informationon the qualification through TAFE, please follow the linkbelow:

Qualificationsand Experience
Inan ideal applicant, we are looking for:
- Willingness tobe part of, and promote, a positive safety culture whilstadhering to all Health and Safety policies andprocedures.
- Minimumcompleted of Year 10 with passes in English andMathematics.
- Minimum ofQueensland C class provisional drivers’ licence (or ability toobtain).
- Sound writtenand verbal communication skills.
- Sound computerskills.
- Ability to workeffectively and be positively involved within a teamenvironment.
- Complete alltraining and assessment requirements of a Certificate III inLibrary and Information Services as per the provided trainingplan. This includes attending and participating in structuredformal learning at the nominated Registered TrainingOrganisation (RTO) as well as keeping an accurate and up todate training record book.
