About the role

This is a hands-on trade and supervisory role responsible for helping plan, coordinate and deliver building repairs and maintenance across Council facilities, community housing and other Council assets. The successful applicant will provide daily direction, training and support to a small team consisting of a Trade Assistant and two Carpenter Apprentices.

What we're looking for

- Certificate III in Carpentry or an equivalent recognised trade qualification
- Current White Card
- Current Queensland C Class Driver Licence, or equivalent
- Relevant carpentry, building repair and maintenance experience
- Experience supervising, guiding or training apprentices or other workers.
- Experience working in a remote Aboriginal community, local government, community housing or QBuild-related workplace would be highly regarded.

Shortlisting for this role will begin immediately. Appointment to this position is subject to a satisfactory National Police Check and pre-employment medical assessment.
