The Program: The government is investing heavily in next-generation telecommunications infrastructure for the Public Safety Mobile Broadband (PSMB) program. This is a 1 billion dollar project servicing critical communication networks for emergency services.
The Role: As the Technical Migration Subject Matter Expert (SME), you will serve as the technical authority leading the transition of telecommunications applications, systems, and network infrastructure from legacy environments to up-to-date platforms. You will work directly with internal engineering teams and Emergency Services Organisations (ESOs) to resolve complex radio coverage challenges.
What you will be doing:
- Develop system cutover plans, technical requirements, and rollback strategies.
- Analyse desktop models to engineer coverage solutions for mobile and handset devices.
- Provide specialist advice to internal teams, external agencies, and build partners.
- Execute signal testing using specialist equipment (e.g., Aeroflex/Anritsu) and manage technical risks.
- Expertise in Motorola radio systems (base stations, handsets, fleet mapping) and P25 / LMR networks.
- Ability to act as a trusted technical advisor to senior emergency services engineering peers.
- Hands-on experience with field testing tools (Aeroflex/Anritsu) and executing network cutovers.
