We are seeking General Services Officers - Cleaning & Laundry to join St Andrews Village Ballina and Byron Bay on a casual basis . This is an essential role within our residential aged care facilities, where you will maintain the cleanliness, hygiene and comfort of our facilities and residents' personal items. This position offers the flexibility of casual work whilst contributing meaningfully to the wellbeing of our residents and the smooth operation of our village.

What you'll be doing

- Perform general cleaning duties throughout the aged care facilities at Ballina and Byron Bay, including bedrooms, ensuites, common areas, hallways and dining spaces to maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness
- Operate and maintain laundry equipment, including commercial washing machines and dryers to process residents' personal clothing and facility linen
- Sort, fold and correctly distribute clean resident personal clothing and linen in a timely and organised manner
- Empty bins, remove waste and maintain cleanliness of designated areas as scheduled
- Use appropriate cleaning chemicals, disinfectants and equipment in accordance with safety protocols and procedures
- Report any maintenance issues, damage or safety concerns appropriately and promptly
- Maintain a clean and organised storage area for cleaning supplies and laundry equipment
- Work collaboratively with the general services and broader aged care team to support the comfort and dignity of our residents
- Follow all infection control procedures and health and safety protocols as required in an aged care setting

What we're looking for

- Proven experience in cleaning services or a similar housekeeping or laundry role, preferably in an aged care, healthcare or hospitality setting
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene




- Physical capability to perform manual tasks including lifting, bending, turning and standing for extended periods
- Reliable, punctual and committed to quality work
- Excellent communication skills and a respectful, compassionate approach to working with elderly residents
- Ability to follow instructions and work both independently and as part of a team
- A willingness for St Andrews to obtain current police check on your behalf
- Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safe handling practices (training provided)
- Flexibility to work various shifts across all three sites, weekdays and weekends as required
