We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Trainer Assessor to join Peter Pan Literacy Club on a casual basis . This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in vocational education and training, helping learners develop essential literacy and numeracy skills. Based in Townsville QLD 4810, you will deliver engaging training sessions and conduct fair and accurate assessments to support learner progression. This role is pivotal in ensuring our learners achieve their educational goals and develop the competencies required for employment and further study.
Key responsibilities
Deliver engaging and interactive vocational training sessions in literacy and numeracy to diverse learner cohorts
Design and develop training materials and resources that are tailored to learner needs and learning outcomes
Conduct fair, valid and reliable assessments to evaluate learner progress and competency achievement
Provide constructive feedback to learners on their performance and support their learning journey
Maintain accurate and detailed records of attendance, progress and assessment outcomes
Adapt teaching strategies to accommodate different learning styles and individual learner requirements
Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistency in training delivery and assessment practices
Contribute to a supportive and inclusive learning setting that encourages learner engagement and success
What we’re looking for
Recognised vocational education and training (VET) qualifications, such as a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent
Sound knowledge of literacy and numeracy concepts and teaching methodologies suitable for vocational learners
Demonstrated experience in delivering training and conducting assessments in a vocational education setting
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and motivate diverse learner groups
Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple learner cohorts
Commitment to learner‑centred approaches and inclusive education practices
