The Opportunity
Sante Recruitment is partnering with Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital to appoint a Staff Specialist in Paediatrics.
This is an outstanding opportunity to join a major regional referral centre, delivering comprehensive paediatric and neonatal care across a large and diverse catchment in northern Current South Wales.
You will work within a well-supported multidisciplinary team, contributing to inpatient, outpatient, and neonatal services, while also playing a key role in teaching, service development, and regional outreach .
With 282 beds , Tamworth is the largest regional hospital in NSW outside the Sydney–Wollongong–Newcastle corridor , providing a wide range of specialist services.
- 18-bed inpatient unit with 2,600+ admissions annually
- Outpatient clinics seeing approximately 5,000 patients per year
- Paediatric Surgery
- Neurology
- Respiratory / CF
- Haematology-Oncology
- Cardiology
- Immunology
- Rehabilitation and more
Neonatal Services
- Level 3 Neonatal Service within a Level 4 maternity unit
- Management of infants >=32 weeks or >=1500g
- Initial stabilisation of preterm infants prior to Newborn and Paediatric Emergency Transport Service retrieval
- Special Care Nursery providing:
- CPAP support
- Phototherapy
- Feeding and growth management
- Sepsis management
- Transition care
- Neonatal care represents a significant proportion of workload , making it a key component of the role.

Requirements
- Primary medical degree registrable with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
- Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP – General Paediatrics), or
- Eligibility via an overseas-trained specialist pathway
