Your Role
Applications are invited for the full-time contract position of Instructional Coach (Central Highlands), commencing January 2027 until 16 January 2028. This role, ideally based in Emerald, provides support to four Catholic primary schools across the Western Region (Emerald, Springsure and Clermont). The successful applicant will play a key role in strengthening teaching practice and building professional capability across the four Catholic primary schools in the Central Highlands. Working in partnership with school leaders, they will support the consistent implementation of high-quality, evidence-informed teaching approaches that align with the CEDR vision for inclusive curriculum, teaching and learning. The successful applicant will foster a culture of continuous improvement by empowering teachers to reflect on their practice, build confidence in their professional decision-making and enhance their impact on student learning.
Through collaboration, relationship-building and targeted support, they will contribute to the development of strong professional learning communities across schools. This role presents an exciting opportunity for an experienced educator to influence teaching excellence and positively shape educational outcomes for students throughout the region.
Typical Duties Include, But Are Not Limited
- Facilitate reflective practice and promote confidence, capability, and professional growth through classroom observation, feedback, and coaching conversations
- Support early career teachers, including those with Permission to Teach and Graduate teachers, to build strong pedagogical foundations and embed good classroom management practices and routines
- Contribute to a culture of collective professional growth by working with staff to explore, apply, and adapt evidence-based strategies
- Demonstrate high-impact instructional strategies in classroom settings, aligned with school and system priorities
- Align teaching practices with school-wide goals and curriculum requirements

Mandatory Requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and current Queensland College of Teachers Registration
- Current Driver's Licence
- Ability to travel within the Catholic Diocese of Rockhampton
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role in a safe manner.
