Yoorana is a specialist domestic and family violence service supporting women and children across the Fraser Coast. For over 45 years, we have provided safe accommodation, advocacy, case management and recovery-focused support to families escaping domestic and family violence.

We are seeking a compassionate, motivated and organised Accommodation & Property Support Worker to join our dedicated team.

This diverse and rewarding role combines direct support for women and children with responsibility for maintaining safe, welcoming and well-presented accommodation across Yoorana's refuge and associated properties. Working within a trauma-informed, feminist and strengths-based practice framework, you will provide practical assistance to residents while coordinating property inspections, maintenance and accommodation readiness.The Accommodation Support & Property Officer plays a vital role in providing safe, trauma-informed accommodation and practical support to women and children experiencing domestic and family violence and homelessness.

About the Role

Reporting to the Service Manager, you will:

- Provide practical and emotional support to women and children residing in crisis accommodation.

- Maintain safe, welcoming and trauma-informed accommodation environments.

- Conduct routine property inspections and complete inspection reports.

- Coordinate maintenance requests with QBuild and liaise with contractors and tradespeople.

- Assist with client intake, exits and accommodation transitions.

- Identify and report property,



safety and wellbeing concerns.

- Maintain accurate records, documentation and compliance requirements.

- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team committed to achieving positive outcomes for women and children.

About You

You are someone who

- Is passionate about supporting women and children affected by domestic and family violence.

- Has experience working within community services, homelessness, housing or domestic and family violence.

- Demonstrates empathy, professionalism and sound judgement in challenging situations.

- Is highly organised with excellent communication and documentation skills.

- Can work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team.

- Has confidence coordinating property maintenance and engaging with contractors where required.

Key Performance Indicators The Refuge Accommodation Support Worker will demonstrate success by:

- Safe and welcoming accommodation environments are consistently maintained.

- Property inspections are completed within required time frames.

- Maintenance requests are reported promptly and followed through to completion.





- Accurate inspection reports and documentation are maintained.

- Women and children receive timely, respectful and trauma-informed practical support.

- Child safe practices are consistently demonstrated.

- High standards of confidentiality, professionalism and cultural safety are maintained.

- Legislative, funding and organisational compliance requirements are met.

- Positive working relationships are maintained with contractors, QBuild, community partners and colleagues.

Essential Requirements

- Certificate III in Community Services or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).

- Current Queensland Driver Licence.

- Current Blue Card (Working with Children Check) or ability to obtain.

- National Criminal History Check.

- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
