About the role

CDG Advisors is seeking a talented Accountant to join our team on a full-time basis in our Braeside, VIC office. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your accounting career within a agile business services and corporate advisory firm. As an Accountant, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality financial services and advisory support to our diverse client base.

You will work collaboratively with experienced professionals to provide sound financial guidance and strategic insights that drive business success for our clients.

What you'll be doing

- Preparing and reviewing financial statements, tax returns, and regulatory compliance documentation for clients across various industries
- Conducting financial analysis and providing commentary on business performance and financial position
- Assisting with bookkeeping, accounts reconciliation, and general ledger management for client accounts
- Supporting audit and assurance engagements, including testing and documentation of financial controls
- Liaising with clients to gather financial information, clarify accounting issues, and resolve queries
- Contributing to the development of financial models and forecasting scenarios for business advisory work
- Maintaining detailed working papers and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and firm policies
- Supporting senior team members in the delivery of corporate advisory and business services engagements

What we're looking for

- A relevant accounting qualification such as a Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Accounting, or equivalent tertiary qualification




- Active progress towards or completion of professional accounting credentials (CPA, CA, or IPA membership or candidacy)
- Between 2-5 years of relevant accounting experience in a professional services firm, corporate environment, or accounting practice
- Strong proficiency with accounting software packages and Microsoft Excel
- Solid understanding of financial reporting standards, tax legislation, and accounting principles
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple engagements simultaneously
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial matters clearly
- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all financial work
- Professional approach, reliability, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn and develop new skills
