ROLE PURPOSE
As a Systems Administrator, you will provide technical expertise to support, maintain, and secure the corporate IT environment and associated infrastructure. You will also support the management of broadcast systems covering Windows Server operating systems and virtualisation services. You’ll be expected to display a technical, logical thought process, an ability to stick to strict deadlines, prioritise and self-organise, and a keen eye for detail.
This is an 18-month fixed-term contract with the potential to convert to a permanent position.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Administer and support core cloud platforms, identity services, and collaboration systems.
- Administer and maintain virtualised server infrastructure and associated services.
- Install and configure computer hardware, software, systems, printers, and scanners.
- Monitor and maintain system performance, availability, and capacity.
- Support endpoint configuration, deployment, and lifecycle management.
- Administer identity and access management processes, including privileged access controls and certificate services.
- Operate and maintain security tooling to support endpoint, identity, and access protection.
- Execute security controls aligned to organisational policies and ISO 27001 practices.
- Support the management of the broadcast systems covering Windows Server operating systems and virtualisation services.
- Respond to and investigate operational and security incidents as directed.
- Provide technical support across systems, infrastructure, and end-user environments, including escalation and occasional frontline support as required.
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and system issues, collaborating with the wider Technology team.
- Maintain system documentation, configurations, and asset inventory, including supporting configuration of operational tools and systems where required.
- Perform testing, patching, and system upgrades.
- Follow structured incident, change, and problem management processes.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Essential Experience & Skills
- Experience administering Microsoft cloud and on-premises environments, including identity, collaboration, and core platform services.
- Experience supporting virtualised infrastructure and Windows Server environments.
- Experience administering identity and access management processes.
- Understanding of device and endpoint management in a modern IT environment.
- Exposure to security tooling and operational security practices across endpoint, identity, and access domains.
- Experience supporting collaboration and telephony platforms.
- Experience working within structured incident, change, and problem management processes (e.g. ITIL).
- Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across systems and infrastructure.
- Ability to support and maintain complex technical environments with attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritise and manage workload effectively across competing demands.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Computing, or Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- Microsoft certifications in cloud, identity, or infrastructure technologies (desirable).
- Security-related certifications or experience in security-focused environments viewed favourably.
