Our client, a well-established financial services business, is looking for a Legal Counsel to join their in-house legal team on a 12-month contract. This is a genuinely broad role with a high likelihood of converting to permanent, and it would suit someone who enjoys variety and wants to be close to the business.
The team is in a growth and transformation phase, rolling out new technology and AI platforms across the business, so there's real scope to shape how legal supports that work.
What you'll be doing:
- Broad BAU legal work across the business, advising internal stakeholders on day-to-day matters
- Supporting technology and AI initiatives as they're rolled out, including the legal and regulatory considerations that come with them
- Regulatory and compliance work within a financial services (AFSL) environment
- Transactional and commercial contract work
- Partnering closely with the broader business and building strong internal relationships
What we're looking for:
- A qualified lawyer with broad corporate/commercial experience
- Financial services and AFSL exposure
- Comfortable operating across both legal and compliance matters
- Adaptable and pragmatic, with the confidence to work autonomously
- Open on level - we're keen to hear from both senior and mid-level candidates
