The opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Dairy Farm Manager or (couple) to join Woodspring Family Trust at our property in Kulpi, QLD 4352. This is a full-time position offering a unique opportunity for a couple to work together, or manager supporting a team in which you manage all aspects of our dairy herd. Potential for the position to transition to a share-farming agreement. The role is strategically important to our business, requiring strong leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to operational excellence. As Dairy Farm Manager you will oversee the day-to-day management of the dairy farm, ensuring productivity, animal welfare, and sustainable farming practices are maintained to a high standard. Modern brick house available with electricity and internet.

What you'll be doing

Overseeing all daily dairy farming operations, including herd management, milk production, and animal husbandry. 240 Cows in 16 aside dairy.

Managing staff recruitment, training, supervision, and performance management within the farm team

Implementing and monitoring animal health and welfare protocols, working with veterinary services as required

Maintaining farm infrastructure, equipment, and facilities in optimal working condition

Ration and feed mixing

6. Ensuring compliance with dairy industry regulations, biosecurity requirements, and environmental standards

7. Conducting regular health and safety assessments and promoting a strong safety culture

8. Liaising with milk processors, suppliers, and other stakeholders

Implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and efficiency

What we're looking for

Minimum 5+ years' experience in dairy farm management or similar livestock management roles

Proven track record of successfully managing farm operations, staff, and budgets

Strong knowledge of dairy herd management, animal health, and reproduction

Competency in farm machinery operation and maintenance

Understanding of biosecurity, animal welfare standards, and relevant agricultural regulations

Experience with grazing management and

Ration and feed mixing

Excellent leadership and team management skills

Problem-solving ability with a practical, proactive approach

Ability to work flexibly, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends as required in farming operations

A genuine passion for sustainable farming and animal welfare

Preferably, experience with farm management software and record-keeping systems

Preferably, experience working as a couple or in partnership roles in agricultural settings
