Are you an experienced Industrial Cleaner or Food Manufacturing worker looking for flexible, on-call work?
We are seeking reliable and physically fit Hygiene Workers to join our team in Shepparton East . This is an on-call casual position , meaning shifts are offered as operational requirements arise. Applicants must be available to work at short notice when required.
Significant: Due to the nature of this role, applicants must live within 30 minutes of Shepparton East and have reliable transport. Applicants outside this area will not be considered.
About the Role As a Hygiene Worker, you will be responsible for cleaning and sanitising production equipment, machinery, processing areas and factory floors within a food manufacturing environment. This role is critical to maintaining food safety and hygiene standards. Duties align with the Hygiene Worker position description and include cleaning production equipment, handling chemicals, operating high-pressure hoses, washing machinery, and maintaining sanitation standards throughout the facility.
Shift Times
- On-call casual role
- Shifts offered as required
- Typical start time: 3:00 PM
- Typical finish time: 10:30 PM to 11:00 PM
- Availability for afternoon and evening work is essential
What We’re Looking For To be successful, you must have:
- Previous experience in industrial cleaning , food manufacturing , or a similar production environment
- Experience working safely around machinery and manufacturing equipment
- A strong understanding of workplace hygiene and safety standards
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable transport and the ability to attend shifts at short notice
- A positive attitude, strong work ethic and reliable attendance
Physical Requirements This is a physically demanding role and you must be capable of:
- Standing and walking for extended periods
- Repetitive cleaning, scrubbing and hosing duties
- Frequent pushing, pulling and manoeuvring of equipment and carts
- Regular lifting and carrying of materials and equipment between 20-25kg
- Working in a fast-paced industrial environment
- Working in confined and awkward positions when cleaning equipment
- Working with cleaning chemicals and following strict safety procedures
PPE & Working Conditions You will be required to wear full PPE, including:
- Steel cap boots
- Hearing protection
- Safety goggles
- Gloves
- Chemical handling suits and protective clothing
Please note that these PPE requirements can make the work environment feel hot and physically demanding , so applicants must be comfortable working under these conditions.
