Venture Outdoors Co delivers outdoor education, adventure and Snowsport programs from our base at Bungarra Alpine Centre in Jindabyne. We are looking for an experienced and dependable Accounts Officer to join our team and take responsibility for the day-to-day financial administration of the organisation.

About the Role

Working closely with the Business Manager, the Accounts Officer is responsible for the accurate and timely delivery of key financial functions, including weekly payroll, accounts payable, reconciliations, financial reporting and statutory compliance. This important role would suit someone who enjoys taking ownership of their work, maintaining accurate systems and ensuring financial deadlines are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and process weekly payroll, ensuring employee entitlements, deductions, superannuation and applicable award conditions are applied correctly
- Maintain accurate payroll records and complete Single Touch Payroll reporting
- Manage the end-to-end accounts payable process, including receiving, verifying and coding invoices
- Obtain internal approvals, schedule supplier payments and maintain accurate supplier records
- Complete weekly bank account and credit card reconciliations
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly
- Prepare monthly financial reports, expenditure summaries and budget tracking information
- Complete and lodge BAS, GST, PAYG, superannuation and other statutory reporting requirements
- Maintain accurate and well-organised financial records to support reporting, compliance and audit requirements
- Communicate with employees, suppliers and other stakeholders regarding payroll and account enquiries
- Assist the Business Manager with additional financial administration and reporting as required

About You





You will be a reliable and detail-focused accounts professional who is comfortable managing recurring weekly, monthly and quarterly deadlines. To succeed in this position, you will have:

- Demonstrated experience in accounts, bookkeeping or financial administration, including payroll, accounts payable and bank and credit card reconciliations
- Proficiency in MYOB or similar accounting software, together with strong Microsoft 365 skills, particularly Excel and Outlook
- Experience with Single Touch Payroll and preparing and lodging BAS, GST, PAYG and superannuation obligations
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, organisation and time management
- The ability to work independently, take ownership of responsibilities and manage confidential financial information with discretion
- Clear and professional communication skills, with a proactive, practical and solutions-focused approach

A Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping, or an equivalent or higher qualification, is preferred. Applicants with substantial relevant bookkeeping and payroll experience will also be considered.
