Your role at St John of God Social Outreach

We are seeking applications from experienced and compassionate Mental Health Clinicians (Psychologists, Mental Health Occupational Therapists or Mental Health Accredited Social Workers) to join our Social Outreach team in Ballarat on a permanent part-time basis 0.6 FTE.

In this role, you will join a specialist multidisciplinary team providing integrated, evidence-based care to women, infants, partners and families experiencing perinatal and infant mental health challenges. You will provide assessment, therapeutic intervention and ongoing support, working collaboratively to promote positive mental health and wellbeing throughout the perinatal journey.

The Position:

- Provide advanced clinical services, including individual and group interventions, in line with your professional training, current evidence and ethical clinical practice.
- Complete comprehensive assessments and develop, implement and monitor individualised care plans across complex and general caseloads.
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure effective communication, coordination and continuity of care.




- Build strong relationships with patients, carers, colleagues and external service providers to support holistic, patient-centred care.
- Liaise with compensable bodies, financial institutions and external care agencies where required to support patient care and service coordination.
- Provide explicit and timely verbal and written clinical feedback to referring doctors and members of the multidisciplinary team.
- Contribute to a positive, supportive clinical environment focused on delivering high-quality outcomes and exceptional patient care

About You

- You will hold a tertiary qualification in Psychology or Social Work with current registration or eligibility for membership with the relevant professional body. For Social Workers, current Mental Health Accreditation with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) is an essential requirement for this role.
- You will also need to have a Medicare Provider Number or must be eligible to obtain.
- You will bring demonstrated experience delivering evidence-based mental health interventions, with strong clinical reasoning, communication and interpersonal skills. Experience in, or a robust interest in, perinatal and infant mental health will be highly regarded
- Experience running groups and providing individual therapy will be highly regarded.

We can offer you

- Psychologist: $79,551 to $118,246 (pro-rata for part-time) plus 12% Superannuation
- Social Worker: $75,308 to $109,067 (pro-rata for part-time) plus 12% Superannuation
- Permanent position, working 22.8 hours per week
