Rothwell Lawyers is a well-established Melbourne CBD law firm which practices in in insolvency, commercial law, debt recovery, conveyancing and wills & estates. We are seeking an experienced Accounts & Administration Assistant to join our close-knit team on a part-time basis (approximately 15 hours per week). About the Role
Reporting directly to the Principal, your responsibilities will include:
- Managing the firm's legal trust account in accordance with the Legal Profession Uniform Law and Rules.
- Trust account receipting, payments and reconciliations.
- General office accounts, including accounts payable and receivable.
- Processing invoices.
- Reception relief and telephone enquiries as required.
- Providing administrative support to solicitors and support staff.
- General office coordination and other ad hoc administrative duties.
About You
The successful applicant will have:
- Previous experience in a legal office.
- Experience managing or assisting with a legal trust account (essential).
- Strong understanding of legal trust accounting obligations.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- A proactive attitude with the ability to work independently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Experience with legal practice management software (ActionStep experience will be highly regarded).
