Irrigation Technician

Duties & Responsibilities
- System Operation & Maintenance Management: Responsible for the daily operation, inspection, maintenance, and troubleshooting of drip/sprinkler irrigation systems (including water pumps, pipelines, etc.), ensuring the precise irrigation needs of 55 acres of organic crops are met.
- Irrigation Plan Development: Develop scientific irrigation plans based on organic standards, crop cycles, soil, and climate data. Precisely control water volume and frequency to ensure certification compliance.
- Fertigation Integration Operation: Operate relevant equipment to precisely mix organic fertilizers for simultaneous irrigation. Monitor the process and record data to ensure efficient nutrient absorption.
- Data Optimization & Review: Establish operation records for irrigation systems, documenting equipment status,
test data, etc. Regularly analyze efficiency and propose optimization or upgrade suggestions.
- Safety & Collaboration Assurance: Adhere to WHS (Work Health and Safety) standards; coordinate with the planting team and farm manager to provide irrigation technical support and participate in planting planning meetings.
Selection Criteria / Skills & Qualifications
- Possess 1-3 years of relevant experience in irrigation system installation/maintenance, or practical experience in horticultural/agricultural irrigation.
- Proficient in the operation and maintenance of core irrigation system components, including pumps, valves, piping, and irrigation controllers, with a solid understanding of water supply scheduling logic.
- Have a basic grasp of the principles of hydraulic parameters in agricultural/horticultural settings and an understanding of water resource optimization and management methods.
- Adaptable to outdoor working environments, capable of independently completing physical work tasks, and equipped with reliable maintenance execution capabilities.
- Demonstrate strong communication and coordination skills, able to effectively collaborate with farm teams and management.
- Meticulous and reliable in work, prioritize work safety, strictly comply with labour hire industry standards, and adhere to high-quality craftsmanship requirements.
- Flexible to adjust work arrangements in line with the farm's production cycles.
