We are seeking a hands-on AI Architect / Principal AI Engineer with strong management or technology consulting experience to lead the technical vision, architecture, and client execution of secure, enterprise-grade AI solutions across Australia. In this role, you will bridge operational business strategy with deep technical execution—building rapid Proofs of Concept (PoCs) yourself, presenting with credibility to Business Process Owners and IT Leaders, and providing technical direction to a team of dedicated AI engineers.

Key Responsibilities

Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a trusted advisor to Business Process Owners, IT Directors, and Enterprise Architects, translating complex operational challenges into pragmatic, high-value AI technical roadmaps.

Architecture & Strategy: Design end-to-end, scalable enterprise AI architectures (LLMs, RAG, agentic workflows) hosted in Australian cloud regions (e.g., AWS Sydney/Melbourne, Azure Australia East/Central)



adhering strictly to enterprise security baselines and zero-trust principles.

Hands-on Prototyping: Rapidly build and validate PoCs using secure coding practices to demonstrate feasibility and business value directly to business and IT leadership before production rollout.

Engineering Leadership: Direct, mentor, and guide a team of AI/ML engineers on best practices, code quality, threat modeling, and secure CI/CD deployment pipelines.

Qualifications & Skills

Experience: 10 years in Software Architecture / ML Engineering, including 2 years in Management or Technology Consulting delivering enterprise digital and AI transformations within the Australian market.

Stakeholder Management: Proven track record of interacting with Business Process Owners and IT Leadership, articulating technical trade-offs, managing scope/expectations, and translating AI capabilities into operational improvements.

Hands-on Stack: Deep proficiency in Python and contemporary AI/ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, LangChain, LlamaIndex, AutoGen, CrewAI).

AI/LLM Architecture: Expertise in RAG patterns, vector databases (Pinecone, Qdrant, Milvus, pgvector), prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and LLM guardrail frameworks (e.g., NeMo Guardrails, Guardrails AI).

Engineering & MLOps: Hands-on experience with secure cloud platforms in Australian regions (AWS Bedrock/SageMaker, Azure OpenAI Service, GCP Vertex AI), enterprise IAM, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and audit-compliant CI/CD pipelines.
