AI Engineer (Full Stack)

- AI-Powered E-commerce Ops Platform
- $180k-$200k Base + Super + ESOP
- Sydney (Hybrid) - 3 days/wk in office

We are currently working with a venture-backed AI-Native operations platform that’s redefining post-purchase operations for eCommerce brands through AI automation and smarter decision making.

The role

You'll own features end-to-end — frontend, backend, and the AI application layer — across a modern stack:

- Core: Python, TypeScript, React, PostgreSQL, MongoDB
- Agentic AI: LangGraph/LangChain, OpenRouter, OpenAI/Anthropic/Gemini, an in-house Agent Studio and Agent Runtime
- Event-driven backbone: Temporal, Apache Kafka, Azure Service Bus
- AI-assisted development: Claude Code, Cursor and Codex as part of daily workflow

Alongside feature work, you'll partner closely with the team's QA Engineer on test automation (Playwright/Cypress) and help build eval harnesses for LLM-driven agent behaviour — bringing a test-engineering mindset to a codebase you're also writing.

You are:





- A genuine full-stack builder — comfortable across TypeScript and Python, frontend and backend
- Experience building at the AI/agentic layer, not just using AI tools
- Someone who takes real ownership and drives features from spec to production without hand-holding
- Curious about agentic AI and keen to build in it, not just around it
- Energised by a rapid, ambiguous, early-stage environment where the playbook is still being written
- Experience within eCommerce will be very highly valued.
