Help maintain the firm's recommended and wider approved list of managed investment products across mainstream asset classes, including equities and fixed income.
- Assist the team in building and upholding a rigorous, defensible process for selecting, reviewing and removing managed funds from the Approved Product List.
- Help prepare investment research and draft proposals for the Investment Committee as part of the quarterly and annual review cycle for the Approved Product List.
- Prepare and circulate internal summaries following due diligence sessions and adviser briefings with fund managers.
- Collaborate with senior analysts covering both traditional and alternative asset classes, along with the Investment Communications Manager, to produce materials for client use.
- Partner closely with the Portfolio Construction and Discretionary Management function to ensure a sufficiently broad and appropriate range of options is available for building resilient portfolios aligned with the firm's strategic and tactical asset allocation.
- Spot and stay ahead of qualitative, quantitative and market-driven factors likely to influence expected returns and fund profitability.
- Review monthly and quarterly fund manager reporting to flag emerging risks within fund holdings.
- Support the ongoing development of the firm's managed investment offering in the sustainable investing space.
Support investment administration & Advisers
- Liaise with operational teams to ensure managed investment products are set up efficiently and used effectively once on the Approved Product List.
- Help administer closed-end fund subscription processes from launch through to ongoing management, and support efforts to improve technology and reduce inefficiencies.
- Keep essential fund-related spreadsheets and SharePoint resources accurate and up to date for use by the investment team and advisers.
- Maintain accuracy and currency of fund-related content on the firm's SharePoint platform.
- Work alongside senior analysts to develop practical, actionable investment ideas for Australian advisers that align with the CIO's house view.
- Help develop sales materials and pitches for current and prospective clients, working alongside advisers.
- Regularly share market insights and firm expertise with advisers and clients to keep them well-informed.
Skills and experience
- A degree in Commerce, Finance, Business or a related field.
- Holds RG146 accreditation (or equivalent), or is willing to pursue it.
