About The Role Join a major enterprise application modernisation program focused on improving the reliability, quality and long-term sustainability of a business-critical platform. As an Applications Tester, you will play a key role in ensuring software releases meet functional and technical expectations through comprehensive testing activities across the software development lifecycle.
Working closely with project teams, business stakeholders and technical specialists, you will contribute to the successful delivery of system enhancements, data validation activities and integration testing while supporting continuous quality improvement across the program.
Position: Applications Tester - $800-$850 per day + super
Location: Eveleigh / Parramatta / Redfern
Working Arrangement: Hybrid (1-2 days in the office)
Start Date: ASAP (Pending Checks)
Duration: 12 months with possible extension

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, review and execute comprehensive test strategies, test plans, test cases and test scripts.
- Perform functional, system integration, regression, user acceptance and end-to-end testing activities.
- Validate application functionality following enhancements, upgrades and system changes.
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts and project managers to clarify requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Coordinate User Acceptance Testing activities with business representatives and subject matter experts.
- Identify, record, prioritise and monitor software defects through to successful resolution.
- Produce clear testing documentation, reports and quality metrics for project stakeholders.
- Verify data migration outcomes, ETL processes and data integrity across multiple environments.
- Support release planning, deployment validation and production readiness activities.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist in maintaining test environments and test data where required.
- Execute automated testing activities where appropriate and identify opportunities to improve testing efficiency.
- Ensure testing activities comply with established quality assurance frameworks and organisational standards.
- Communicate testing progress, risks, issues and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Contribute to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement of testing processes across the broader technology team.
About You
- Demonstrated experience as an Applications Tester, QA Tester or Test Analyst within medium to large enterprise environments.
- Minimum 5 years' commercial software testing experience, with exposure to complex application delivery projects.
- Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and quality assurance methodologies.
- Experience performing functional, integration, regression, system and user acceptance testing.
- Proven experience developing test plans, test cases, test scripts and test execution reports.
- Solid defect management experience using Jira or similar issue management platforms.
- Experience using test management tools such as ValueEdge, ALM, Azure DevOps, TestRail or similar.
- Experience working across Agile, Waterfall or hybrid delivery environments.
- Knowledge of enterprise application architecture, APIs, databases and data validation processes.
- Exposure to data migration, ETL validation or integration testing will be highly regarded.
- Experience with automated testing tools or frameworks is desirable.
- Exposure to GIS environments or ESRI technologies will be advantageous.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage technical and business stakeholders.
- Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail and problem-solving capability.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively within collaborative project teams.
- Current National Police Check and Working with Children Check, or willingness to obtain.
- Ability to provide two professional references.
