About the Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Employability Skills Trainer to join our Employment Services team to work across Fortitude Valley & Strathpine on a casual basis. The Employment Services division is dedicated to generating opportunities that empower and encourage people to find gainful employment and make a positive contribution to their community.

Reporting to the Regional Manager – Workforce Australia , the Employability Skills Trainer will deliver training to eligible participants within the Skilling Queenslanders for Work (SQW) program. This role focuses on supporting both vocational and non-vocational outcomes, contributing to key performance indicators including employment placements.

Other key duties of the role will include:

- Facilitate face-to-face group and one-on-one training sessions on-site for SQW participants.
- Explore participants’ motivations, career goals and pathways.
- Identify existing skills and how they can transfer across industries or roles.
- Research and discuss local employment opportunities and the skills required.




- Support participants to update, tailor, and improve their job applications.
- Proactively engage participants in group-based learning activities.
- Maintain accurate participant records and complete required reporting in relevant systems.

About You:

The ideal applicant we are seeking will have:

- Experience/ability to deliver non-accredited training to disadvantaged cohorts.
- Knowledge of effective training methods which deliver employment outcomes.
- Knowledge of the Queensland local labour market.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt delivery mode to suit all levels of learners.
- Ability to work well with people from a diverse background.
- First Aid certification.
- Attention to detail and proficient in IT applications.
