WHO WE ARE
The Calming Suite Psychology is a well-established multidisciplinary private practice led by Dr Alissa Knight who is a Principal Clinical Psychologist, Researcher and AHPRA Board Approved Supervisor . Our team is well known for its warmth, diversity, openness, clinical excellence and strong therapy, research and assessment skills in working with children, teens and adults with complex mental health presentations. We pride ourselves on being able to offer our clients the highest evidence-based care in both therapy and assessment, while ensuring they are involved in a collaborative, client-led, and empowering therapeutic approach. One that is holistic, evidence-based, integrative, and tailored for each client in a multi-modal framework.
At The Calming Suite Psychology , our team is everything! We are a very close, bonded team of eleven highly driven, dedicated, motivated, fun, kind and inclusive multidisciplinary psychologists, dietitians, kinesiologists, art therapists and yoga and boxing instructors. A team of people who are collectively down-to-earth, work united, lift each other up, have each other's backs, and are caring, and genuinely value making a difference and working in a way that feels ethical, human, and balanced.
Our administration manager Kelsey is exceptional in her own right. The support she provides to both clients, families and you as the clinician is remarkable. She is a pure diamond and takes so much stress and time off your hands through her hard work ethic, enthusiastic attention to detail, and genuine care.
The clients who come to the Calming Suite Psychology are really special. You will find yourself feeling so much joy, purpose, drive and sense of reward in helping the people and families who you will see.
This ethos is emersed in everything we do.

OUR CALMING SUITE SPACE
Our beautiful Calming Suite practice was intentionally designed to feel more like a high-end wellness space than a traditional white-wall clinic. We wanted our clients and staff to walk through the doors promoting a sense of wellness as opposed to sickness. Every fine detail & finishing touch had the curation of intent to make our clients and staff feel special, welcome, safe and someone who truly matters when they walk in our doors. Every clinician on our team has their own large spacious clinic room with skylights, soft furnishings in wood, mocha, creams, and splashes of plants and flowers, alongside their own unique, purposefully selected (mental health-inspired) artwork from Katie Wyer. Our divine Wellness Room was created as a large multi-purpose space where we host our group programs, diagnostic clinical assessments for children and adults, team meetings & fun activities like boxing and yoga.
And yes – there’s a fully stocked kitchen with snacks and good coffee. Please feel welcome to take a tour of our practice here 7WYznVb9R3Q?si=_Clwx1NyDH0aFxd6

ROLE DESCRIPTION
The Psychologist will be responsible for providing evidence-based therapy and assessment to a case load of clients, matched for them in interest, age and specialisation.
We are not about maximising profit, numbers or churning through appointments. We know the real way to long-term success in a psychology practice is to invest in high-quality psychologists and their health. Instead, we are more focused on quality than quantity , so will set a maximum of 5-6 clients for well experienced psychologists,
and 4-5 clients for psychologists entering the industry for the first time (perhaps straight from university).
If the psychologist is only trained and qualified in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy to begin with, which is more than fine, be willing to undertake professional development (which we will help finance) to broaden their therapy skills in other interventions, such as Dialectical behaviour Therapy, Schema Therapy, EMDR, Play therapy, and potentially specialised therapies/modalities they may want to consider in areas of neurodivergence (ASD/ADHD), eating disorders, health psychology, geriatric psychology, perinatal psychology, trauma, dance psychology, child psychology.
We have a strong reputation in Adelaide for the quality of our clinical assessments, so the psychologist may be involved in conducting psychological assessments, group therapy and collaborating as required with other professionals within the multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic care.
Join in for team meetings, supervision, bonding events. Our team often travel interstate at award nights/conferences, or places like the Adelaide Polo Classic, Hijinx, movie nights, switch parties, and team pottery night.
Administration burden gone! We know that one of the only tireless and mundane aspects of being a psychologist is the amount of paperwork and documentation required, such as case notes, initial intake assessments. As such to help all our psychologists and dietitians on our team have adopted in our practice the use of the Australian endorsed and highly confidential platform for medical professionals; NovoPsych and NovoNote. These AI innovations free you from administrative burdens, as they create and take care of all your case notes, assessments and GP letters, allowing you to concentrate on your client, provide eye contact and empathy rather than focusing on notepads and forms
