Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts – Terrigal NSW

Duty Manager | Crowne Plaza Terrigal Pacific

Not the kind of leader who sits in the back office? Neither are we.

We're looking for a hands-on Duty Manager who loves the buzz of hospitality, leads from the front, and isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves when the pressure is on.

One minute you're welcoming a VIP guest, the next you're supporting a busy front desk, helping a conference run smoothly, resolving a guest concern, or leading the team through a sold-out weekend. If variety, responsibility, and making a genuine impact are what get you out of bed in the morning, this could be your next move.

As the senior leader on shift, you'll have full responsibility for the operation of our 199-room hotel , conference and events spaces, public areas, and guest experience. You'll be trusted to make decisions, support your team, solve problems, and keep the hotel running smoothly while delivering the warm, professional service expected of a leading hotel.

What you'll be getting up to

No two days are the same, but you can expect to:

- Be the go-to leader on shift, taking ownership of the hotel's day-to-day operations

- Lead a busy front office team and jump in wherever support is needed

- Keep the guest experience front and centre, ensuring service exceeds expectations

- Support conferences, events, group arrivals, and operational activities across the hotel

- Confidently manage guest feedback, complaints, and service recovery situations

- Make decisions, solve problems, and keep calm when things get busy

- Act as the first point of contact for emergencies, incidents, and operational challenges

- Prepare detailed shift reports, incident reports,

and handovers that keep everyone informed and set the next shift up for success

- Coach, motivate, and develop team members to perform at their best

- Champion our One Team culture by building strong relationships across all departments

- Be visible, approachable, and someone both guests and colleagues can rely on

What you'll bring

- At least 2 years' experience in a Duty Manager, Front Office Supervisor, or Guest Services leadership role

- Experience working in a 4-star hotel environment or above

- Strong leadership skills and the confidence to manage a hotel operation independently

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including preparing reports and operational handovers

- A calm, practical approach when handling challenging situations

- A genuine passion for people, service, and creating memorable guest experiences

- Experience with Opera or similar hotel management systems (preferred)

- Flexibility to work a rotating roster including evenings, weekends, and public holidays

What's in it for you?

- Work in one of Australia's most iconic coastal destinations

- Join a supportive team that genuinely enjoys what they do

- Career growth opportunities across IHG's global network

- Hotel discounts and colleague benefits worldwide

- Ongoing training and development to help you grow your hospitality career

- A role where your decisions matter and your leadership makes a real difference

If you're ready to lead from the front, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and take charge of a hotel that's always full of energy, we'd love to hear from you.
