High Speed Engineering is a busy CNC Machining Company in Malaga. We have an enviable reputation for producing high quality engineering components and precision parts for all types of industries from mining to motorsport. We are looking to take on another successful Apprentice to join our Team... but there is a twist.
Before we commit to an Apprenticeship, we will be expecting at least 4 months paid employment (likely as a casual on full-time hours) in our Workshop. This is to ensure that we are engaging the best fit for our Team... that is, someone who consistently demonstrates:
- An interest in the work;
- A commitment to the work;
- Organisation skills;
- Accountability;
- Listening Capacity;
- Learning Capability; and
- Solid Foundations & Work Ethic.
Prior to an Apprenticeship being offered, the Main Tasks will include General Factory Hand/Workshop duties including;
- Manual Handling of goods / products;
- Picking/Packing of Orders;
- Stocktake;
- Deliveries and pick ups when required;
- Some basic manual or other operational/manufacturing tasks; and
- Any other reasonable tasks as required / requested.
Must-Haves:
- Positive can-do attitude;
- Strong work ethic (a motivated self starter);
- Ability to undertake a variety of manual handling tasks without restriction;
- Ability to follow instructions as directed;
- Good communication skills;
- Able to work within a Team; and
- Workwear including steel cap boots.
Desired (but not essential):

- A forklift license;
- Previous exposure to a busy manufacturing workshop environment; and/or
- Previous experience in a similar role
Please note:
- As we are a small business, cultural ‘fit’ is very significant to us.
If you want to join a small cohesive team at one of the best CNC Machining Workshops in Western Australia and have a passion for engineering, manufacturing and/or cars/motorsport, then this would be ideal for you!
Please DO NOT apply if you:
- cannot pass a Drug & Alcohol Screen;
- can provide a million excuses why you can't come to work or perform the work;
- are not serious about committing to an Apprenticeship; or
- are not interested in any forms of Engineering, Mining, Motorsport, Machining, Manufacturing Technology, Listening and/or Learning... we simply won't be the place for you.
So Why Choose Us for your Apprenticeship?
We aren’t like any of the other “Machine” Shops in Perth. We have:
▪ Clean modern facilities;
▪ Well maintained machines;
▪ ALL the technology;
▪ A small cohesive and experienced team to learn from;
▪ Interesting work and components; and
▪ High quality work and finishing.

We recognise that Apprenticeships are not easy (especially if you’re just entering the workforce) - you have to work hard AND study – but if you have the interests, values and can see the bigger picture for yourself then you will know that obtaining a Cert IV in Engineering (CNC Machining) at High Speed will set you on the right future path.
To apply, we would like you to send your resume with a cover letter to us. The cover letter should:
- Showcase who you are; and
- Tell us about your interests and goals.
The resume should
- Outline of prior work experience (not necessary if just entering into the workforce); and
- Have at least two contactable referees.
