Working within a collaborative environment, you'll partner with stakeholders across the division to drive financial accuracy, capability uplift, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Your recent role

As an APS6 Finance Support Officer, you'll act as a trusted finance contact for a diverse business area, helping managers and staff navigate financial processes, reporting requirements, and governance obligations.

Key responsibilities include

- Providing accurate and timely advice on financial matters across the division.
- Acting as the first point of contact for finance-related enquiries.
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and actuals reporting activities.
- Monitoring financial data and identifying areas requiring corrective action.
- Driving improvements to financial processes, compliance, and reporting accuracy.
- Using reporting tools, including Power BI, to support financial decision-making.
- Delivering training and guidance to improve financial capability and literacy.
- Supporting workforce financial management, including timesheet and coding compliance.
- Managing finance-related correspondence through a centralised mailbox.
- Identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities to enhance financial sustainability and business outcomes.

What you'll need to succeed

- Must be an Australian citizen with a minimum of Baseline Security Clearance

To be successful in this APS6 opportunity, you'll bring:




- Experience in finance business partnering, management accounting, budgeting, or financial operations.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial information and provide meaningful insights.
- Experience supporting forecasting, reporting, compliance, and financial governance activities.
- Well-developed stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- The ability to educate and influence non-financial stakeholders.
- Experience identifying process improvement opportunities and driving positive change.
- Exposure to reporting tools such as Power BI will be highly regarded.
- Previous APS or government finance experience will be highly desirable.
