The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for an APS6 Grants Officer to play a key role in the delivery of a significant government program supporting industry through a period of major transition.
You will contribute to the effective administration, assessment and oversight of grant programs, ensuring funding is delivered transparently, efficiently and in line with government priorities.
Working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, you will use your robust organisational skills, attention to detail and analytical capability to support high-quality program outcomes.
This role offers the opportunity to work on a nationally significant initiative, gain exposure to complex grant management activities and contribute to outcomes that have a direct impact on Australian industries and communities.
The Role
As the APS6 Grants Officer, you will support the end-to-end management and delivery of grant programs.
Your responsibilities will include
- Assessing grant applications and providing recommendations in line with program guidelines and assessment criteria
- Supporting grant administration processes, including agreement management, reporting and compliance activities
- Reviewing grant reports and providing advice on performance, milestones and obligations
- Maintaining accurate records, reporting tools and program documentation
- Supporting data collection, analysis and evaluation activities to measure program effectiveness
- Developing and maintaining governance documentation, including risk registers, project plans and reporting frameworks
- Supporting contract and service agreement management activities
- Preparing high-quality briefs, correspondence, reports and advice for senior leaders and decision-makers
- Building effective relationships with stakeholders across government, industry and partner organisations
The Ideal Person You are an experienced grants, programs or project professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and contributing to outcomes that make a difference.
You have a strong understanding of grants administration processes and the ability to manage competing priorities while delivering accurate and timely work.
You bring sound judgement, excellent written communication skills and the ability to analyse information, identify issues and provide practical advice.
You are comfortable working with a range of stakeholders and can build trusted relationships while navigating complex and evolving environments.
You are a proactive team member who takes ownership, adapts quickly to changing priorities and brings a solutions-focused approach to delivering quality program outcomes.
Experience within government, grants management, program delivery, policy implementation or a related field will be highly regarded.
Salary / Rate
- $65/hr – $75/hr + Super
- 12-month labour hire contract with an opportunity to extend
- Baseline clearance required
