About The Role Conditions for Learning (CfL) is an outward facing directorate within the Schools and Preschools Division with its core business to support sites to achieve optimum conditions for learning so they can focus on teaching and learning. The directorate works in close collaboration with a range of divisions and system leaders to support schools and preschools.
What does CfL do?
- Deliver high profile election commitments and shape key operational policy reforms
- Align and review major departmental policies and processes
- Managing protections, exemptions, camps and excursions, overseas travel, mobile phone ban, organising the school year, respond to critical incidents, governance, and provide proactive supports to sites
- Partner with sites, and Education Directors, to provide operational advice and supports, and support on the ground for critical incidents and complex issues.
The Project Officer,
Operations and Camps is responsible for coordinating and undertaking a range of administrative functions to support the operations of the Conditions for Learning (CfL) directorate. A central focus of the Project Officer is supporting the delivery of efficient and effective centralised services to enable the annual implementation of free camps for Year 7 students in public schools. The Project Officer coordinates high quality correspondence, preparation of briefings and data management, including timely processing of a significant volume of camp applications and related documentation. The role requires a systematic approach, strong organisational skills, and the ability to confidently handle large volumes of data and information. Building productive relationships and maintaining clear communications with internal and external stakeholders is essential, alongside a commitment to continuous improvement and compliance with relevant policies.

Officer will exercise sound judgement, discretion, and resilience to periods of high workload and changing priorities, ensuring deadlines are consistently met.
Qualifications Essential: Nil
Desirable: Relevant tertiary qualification in project management or similar
Special conditions The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC)
prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry.
The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN –EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.

Remuneration ASO5 $92,122 - $102,456 per annum (1.0 FTE) + superannuation (12%) and leave loading
