Opportunity for experienced Asset Protection Officer to support council infrastructure and compliance. Your recent local council Are you an experienced Asset Protection, Asset Consent, or Permit Officer looking for your next opportunity in local government?

We are working with a well-regarded metropolitan council to recruit an Asset Protection Officer to support the assessment and administration of asset protection applications, vehicle crossing permits, and associated inspections. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative team and contribute to the protection and maintenance of vital community infrastructure.

Your new role Reporting to the Infrastructure team, you will be responsible for processing asset protection and vehicle crossing applications while ensuring works impacting council infrastructure comply with relevant standards, policies, and regulations.

This role offers a combination of office-based work and site inspections, providing a varied and engaging workload.

Key responsibilities:

- Assess and process Asset Protection and Vehicle Crossing permit applications.
- Conduct pre, during, and post-construction inspections of vehicle crossings and associated infrastructure.
- Monitor works to ensure compliance with council standards and permit conditions.
- Liaise with contractors, developers, residents, and internal stakeholders regarding permit requirements.
- Investigate and resolve issues relating to permit compliance and asset protection matters.




- Maintain accurate records, inspection reports, and permit documentation.
- Provide advice and support regarding asset protection processes and council requirements.

What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this role, you will possess:

- Previous experience in Asset Protection, Asset Consent, Permit Administration, Compliance, Engineering, or a related local government role.
- Knowledge of vehicle crossing permits, road reserve works, and council infrastructure assets.
- Experience conducting site inspections and preparing technical reports.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and relevant legislation.
- A current Victorian Driver's Licence.

What you'll get in return

- Competitive hourly rate of $50- $55 p/h + super
- Initial 6-month contract with potential for extension.
- Full-time position, Monday to Friday (9:00am - 5:00pm).
- Hybrid working arrangement with a minimum of three days per week in the office.
